At Totofin, we believe that people are the most important aspect of any business.

ABOUT TOTOFIN

The guiding principle of the Totofin stable of companies, as well as that of its directors and staff, is one of building relationships. Both within the company structure, and with suppliers and clients as a whole.

With this in mind, we operate with a view to being transparent, collaborative and respectful towards our staff and clients, while maintaining the highest standard and delivering excellent service. The name of our umbrella holding company, Totofin, was inspired by the soft rock legend Toto.  Totofin acts as a holding company, with all other companies as subsidiaries. It is helmed by Michael Dreyer and Peter Salomons.

There is no secret to success, there’s a system to success.

Background

DIRECTORATE

Michael Dreyer

Chairman | Totofin Group

Michael, Chairman, spent time at Stellenbosch and Pretoria Universities. He then left the academic field to enter the world of business. Michael successfully operated his own business venture between 1979 and 1999, at which time it was bought by the Bidvest Group. Michael was then appointed MD of the Bidvest Industrial Services division, where he served until 2009.  During his time as director, he oversaw over 3000 employees and managed the expansion of operations through Africa and Saudi Arabia.

After leaving Bidvest, Michael spent a year consulting and assisting Enviroserv Waste Management as a board member of Enviroserv Investment Holdings. This, fatefully, brought him into contact with Peter and Jetvac, which was facing a number of challenges at the time. After doing his due diligence, Michael saw the potential of the company and its people and decided to invest in Jetvac and the industrial waste management sector.  Jetvac was extensively restructured and revitalised, renamed  Juno Corp and ultimately transformed into the market leader that it is today.

Michael and Peter established the empowerment company BBCO Investment Holdings, which owns a vested and absolute interest in Juno Corp. All BBCO shareholders are employed by Juno Corp.

Peter Salomons

Executive Director | Totofin Group

Peter started his career with Safmarine and later served in the SA Navy as a skipper. He then followed his interests in a more creative direction and established Juno Corp (then known as Jetvac) in 1995.

In order to hone his skills, Peter spent time in Europe educating himself about the components and applications that go into the design of waste management equipment and trucks.  Peter applied this knowledge to develop a truly South African combination Vacuum and Jetting truck, one that is purpose-built and well suited to the local market. Juno trucks are extensively used in the municipal and industrial sectors throughout South Africa, and Peter’s expertise and know-how have had a lasting impact on the waste disposal sector as a whole.

In order to better equip himself for his new position, Jacques completed a  course in Advanced Business Project Management at the University of Cape Town and took over the reins as CEO of Juno Corp in August 2018. Jacques’ keen eye for design, as well as his business know-how, make him an invaluable part of the Juno Corp management team.
